Connect An iPod To Your BMW

I was having difficulty coming up with the easiest way to interface my iPod to a BMW. I found so many different options. I did not know what option was the best for me. I did some leg work and I found that there were three choices, a wired FM Modulator,a dedicated iPod interface, and a wireless FM transmitter. Each adapter has its pluses and minuses.

A Wireless FM Transmitter sends the iPod’s sound wirelessly to your BMW’s oem sound system. Even though it is not hard to take from vehicle to vehicle there is downgraded sound quailty and some interference. A wired FM modulator is a universal interface. The modulator is not hard to install and the sound quality is pretty good. A dedicated iPod adapter interface is the best option. You will get great sound and also will charge your iPod’s battery, but it is more difficult to install and there are limited applications.
